Leukotriene Receptors

Antibodies

The metabolism of larachidonic acid gives rise to a family of molecules termed leukotrienes. Leukotrienes influence cellular/physiological processes by binding to leukotriene receptors, which belong to the superfamily of G-protein coupled receptors. Members include CysLT1, involved in bronchoconstriction. CysLT2, which plays a role in inflammation. BLT1, which mediates proinflammatory actions and BLT2, whose role remains to be deciphered. These receptors are involved in a plethora of pathologies such as asthma, inflammatory diseases (including rheumatoid arthritis) and more.
