Overview
Cat #: BLP-IP018
Type: Synthetic peptide
Form: Lyophilized powder
CASK Blocking Peptide (#BLP-IP018) is the original antigen used for immunization during Anti-CASK Antibody (#AIP-018) generation. The blocking peptide binds and ‘blocks’ Anti-CASK primary antibody, this makes it a good negative reagent control to help confirm antibody specificity in western blot and immunohistochemistry applications. This control is also often called a pre-adsorption control.
Applications: wb, ihc
Application key:
WB- Western blot, IHC- Immunohistochemistry
For research purposes only. not for human use
Applications
Demonstration of Pre-adsorption control
- Western blot analysis of rat brain (lanes 1 and 4), mouse brain (lanes 2 and 5) and human neuroblastoma (SH-SY5Y) (lanes 3 and 6) cell line lysates:1,2. Anti-CASK Antibody (#AIP-018), (1:400).
3. Anti-CASK Antibody (1:200).
4,5,6. Anti-CASK Antibody, preincubated with CASK Blocking Peptide (#BLP-IP018). - Expression of CASK in rat hypothalamusImmunohistochemical staining of rat hypothalamus free floating frozen sections using Anti-CASK Antibody (#AIP-018), (1:200). CASK staining (green) appears in fibers with varicosities (arrows) running from the ventromedial hypothalamus (VMH) along the base of the brain. Nuclei are stained using DAPI (blue).
