Overview
Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptor α7/CHRNA7 (extracellular) Blocking Peptide (#BLP-NC007) is the original antigen used for immunization during Anti-Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptor α7 (CHRNA7) (extracellular) Antibody (#ANC-007) generation. The blocking peptide binds and ‘blocks’ Anti-Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptor α7/CHRNA7 (extracellular) primary antibody, this makes it a good negative reagent control to help confirm antibody specificity in western blot and immunohistochemistry applications. This control is also often called a pre-adsorption control.

Applications
- Western blot analysis of rat (lanes 1 and 3) and mouse (lanes 2 and 4) brain cell lysates:1,2. Anti-Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptor α7 (CHRNA7) (extracellular) Antibody (#ANC-007), (1:200).
3,4. Anti-Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptor α7 (CHRNA7) (extracellular) Antibody, preincubated with Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptor α7/CHRNA7 (extracellular) Blocking Peptide (#BLP-NC007). - Expression of nAChRα7 in rat DRGImmunohistochemical staining of rat dorsal root ganglion (DRG) frozen sections using Anti-Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptor α7 (CHRNA7) (extracellular) Antibody (#ANC-007), (1:200). nAChRα7 (red staining) is expressed in DRG neurons. Hoechst 33342 is used as the counterstain (blue).
