KCNQ1 (extracellular) Blocking Peptide (#BLP-PC168) is the original antigen used for immunization during Anti-KCNQ1 (extracellular) Antibody (#APC-168) generation. The blocking peptide binds and ‘blocks’ Anti-KCNQ1 (extracellular) primary antibody, this makes it a good negative reagent control to help confirm antibody specificity in western blot and immunohistochemistry applications. This control is also often called a pre-adsorption control.

KCNQ1 in rat subfornical organFree-floating frozen brain sections from a paraformaldehyde-perfused rat were incubated with rabbit anti-KCNQ1 (extracellular) antibody (#APC-168, 1:200), followed by goat anti-rabbit secondary antibody conjugated to Alexa Fluor® 488 (green). A. KCNQ1 immunoreactivity was observed in cells of the subfornical organ (arrows). B. Pre-incubation of the primary antibody with the KCNQ1 (extracellular) Blocking Peptide (#BLP-PC168) suppressed the staining. Nuclear staining with DAPI (blue).
