Overview
Cat #: BLP-NR014
Type: Synthetic peptide
Form: Lyophilized powder
Synapsin I/SYN1 Blocking Peptide (#BLP-NR014) is the original antigen used for immunization during Anti-Synapsin I (SYN1) Antibody (#ANR-014) generation. The blocking peptide binds and ‘blocks’ Anti-Synapsin I/SYN1 primary antibody, this makes it a good negative reagent control to help confirm antibody specificity in western blot and immunohistochemistry applications. This control is also often called a pre-adsorption control.
Applications: wb, ihc
Application key:
WB- Western blot, IHC- Immunohistochemistry
For research purposes only. not for human use
Applications
Demonstration of Pre-adsorption control
- Western blot analysis of rat (lanes 1 and 3) and mouse (lanes 2 and 4) brain synaptosomal fractions:1,2. Anti-Synapsin I (SYN1) Antibody (#ANR-014), (1:400).
3,4. Anti-Synapsin I (SYN1) Antibody, preincubated with Synapsin I/SYN1 Blocking Peptide (#BLP-NR014). - Expression of Synapsin-1 in mouse cerebellumImmunohistochemical staining of perfusion-fixed frozen mouse brain sections using Anti-Synapsin I (SYN1) Antibody (#ANR-014), (1:400), followed by anti-rabbit-Alexa-488 antibody. Synapsin-1 staining (green) appears in Purkinje cell bodies (horizontal arrows) and in segments of the dendritic tree (vertical arrows). Nuclei are stained with DAPI (blue).
