GPR37 or parkin-associated endothelin-like receptor, is an orphan G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) almost exclusively expressed in the central nervous system. High levels of the protein are detected in the cerebellum, corpus callosum, caudate nucleus, putamen, substantia nigra, and hippocampus.
GPR37 is a substrate of the E3 ubiquitin ligase parkin and acts as a receptor for prosaposin. The protein affects oligodendrocyte differentiation and myelination during development1,2.
Studies show that GPR37 is heavily involved in the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease. Missense mutations of GPR37 substrate E3 ubiquitin ligase parkin result in the accumulation of GPR37 in the brain of Parkinson's disease patients1,2. In addition, GPR37 levels are up‐regulated in the brains of juvenile Parkinson disease patients and down‐regulated in the amygdala and hippocampus of major depressive disorder patients3.

Anti-GPR37 (extracellular) Antibody (#AGR-049) is a highly specific antibody directed against an epitope of the rat protein. The antibody can be used in western blot and live cell flow cytometry applications. It has been designed to recognize GPR37 from human, rat and mouse samples.
